Art Camp 2008:
Come and See What You Can Make! Tuition
The Art Center reserves the right to move a student
to another class in the event of insufficient enrollment. The week, time
slot and grade level will, however, be maintained. Deborah Brink has a BFA from University of Colorado and an MEd from Lesley University. She showed and sold her work in galleries and other venues in the Denver area before moving to Santa Fe in 1992. Since then she has dedicated herself to teaching art to adults and children. She works in many media, including glass, metal and wood. Janet Cohen has an MA in Fine Arts Curriculum and Instruction. She has presented workshops and exhibited work in museums, galleries, theaters and educational venues in New Mexico and New York for over 30 years. Geraldine Fiskus has been teaching at the college level for over twenty years. She has exhibited internationally and now shows at the Red Dot Gallery in Santa Fe. Thelma M. Hahn holds a Master's degree in art education and taught in the Los Alamos public school system for over 25 years. She incorporates a sense of history and art appreciation in her teaching. Andrea Keisler holds a BA in art from Colby College in Waterville, ME. She is a painter who has taught children’s art classes wherever she has lived – Maine, Vermont, Oregon and New Mexico. Jennifer Moss holds an associates degree in Early Childhood Multicultural education. For 30-plus years she has been teaching preschoolers with an emphasis on art and creative, constructive activities and curriculum. Ms. Moss has been teaching at Little Forest Playschool for 24 years. Fran Stovall has been teaching Stained Glass since 1998 and has been creating stained glass art since 1992 when she took the very same class at the Art Center at Fuller Lodge. She has a graphic illustration background. Fran is also known for pastel paintings and set design for the theatre. Joyce Yarrington has a bachelor’s degree in Education from Concordia University in Chicago, IL and was a graduate student at the Maryland Institute of Art in Baltimore, MD. She currently teaches watercolor at the Baum School of the Arts in Allentown, PA. Jay Zeiger is a sculptor and installation artist, living and working in Santa Fe, New Mexico. He has taught art at the college level and is currently an art teacher at NAZA Elementary. PoliciesCancellations Cancellations made one full week in advance of the first day of the session will be honored with a refund subject to a $10 cancellation fee. No refunds will be made after that time. Medical Release and Photo Permission Every child must have a completed, signed medical release form on file at the Art Center prior to the first class session. There is a space to indicate your permission for ACFL to use your child’s image in publicity photos. The form is available at registration. The medical release form is available at registration. Lunchtime and Snacks Morning & afternoon snacks will be provided. All children should bring their own water bottle, marked with their name. Children enrolled in full-day, or consecutive morning and afternoon half-day sessions, need to bring a sack lunch with them. Children may not leave alone during snack breaks or lunch break and must remain on Art Center premises during all breaks. Drop-Off and Pick-up Children may be dropped off at the Art Center no earlier than 15 minutes prior to the start of their session, and picked up no later than 15 minutes after the close of each session. The Art Center is not a day-care facility. No one is available to watch the children either prior to or after the Art Camp sessions. Behavior The Art Center expects children to behave respectfully and to obey the instructors and interns. Bullying or disruptive behavior will not be tolerated. If a child misbehaves, parents will be sent a written notification of their child’s misbehavior after the first offense; the child will be dismissed from Art Camp if there is a second offense. No refunds will be issued. Note that climbing walls and trees are grounds for misbehavior notifications. Parents should instruct their children about street safety since the Art Center is located on Central Avenue, a high traffic street. Clothing Children need to dress in clothing that can get dirty as paint, clay, glue, etc., may be used in large quantities. Children will have exercise time outside on a daily basis, so please be sure they have appropriate outdoor clothing. Please, no flip-flops – there have been bee stings. If your child needs sunscreen, please send a personal tube or bottle. |
